Instagram giveaway rules generator
Most arguments after a giveaway start with a rule nobody wrote down. Fill in the fields below and you get a complete set of rules to paste in your caption or pin in the comments, including the line Instagram asks for, saying the promotion is not run by Instagram.

What good giveaway rules answer
Who can enter, what counts as an entry, when entries close, how and when the winner is picked, how long the winner has to reply and what happens if they don't. If any of these is missing, somebody will ask after the draw, usually somebody who didn't win. The generator covers all of them and adds the disclaimer that the promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Instagram.
Each person once, or each comment an entry?
Both are valid; what matters is deciding before you publish. Counting each person once is simpler and feels fairer to most audiences. Counting each comment rewards engagement but should have a cap, otherwise one person with fifty comments drowns everyone else. When you draw with AzuraSort, the one-entry-per-account filter applies the first option automatically.
Local law still applies
This template covers the mechanics. Prize promotions are regulated differently in each country: some require registration, some forbid requiring a purchase, some tax the prize. If your giveaway involves a purchase, a paid sign-up or a valuable prize, check the rules where you and your entrants are. The generated text is a starting point, not legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
Is this rules generator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser, nothing is sent to a server, and there is no sign-up.
Where should I post the rules?
In the caption of the giveaway post, or in a comment you pin right after publishing. Stories disappear after 24 hours, so they are not enough on their own.
Do I need the Instagram disclaimer?
Meta's promotion guidelines ask you to say that the promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Instagram. The generator always includes that line.
Can I edit the text after generating it?
Yes. Copy it and adjust anything you need; the generator only gives you a complete first version.
Running a giveaway on an Instagram post?
The comment picker reads the post, counts the entries and produces a public verification page with a code anyone can open — things a list pasted by hand cannot prove. Paid per draw, from $5.40, with no subscription.
